 There are several criteria that make an individual a better candidate for dental implants. Among these criteria are good overall health, as well as good overall oral health. The best candidates for dental implants are those not currently suffering from problems with the mouth, and this includes gum disease.However, many patients who wish to pursue dental implants have lost their teeth due to gum disease. So does a past history of gum disease mean you are not a good candidate for dental implants? What if gum disease continues to be a problem? The best way to find out if you are a good candidate for dental implants is to consult with an implant dentist. If you have suffered from gum disease in the past, this will not necessarily affect your candidacy for dental implants.
